Description

I made this bag for days that need something steadier.

Unlike the floral pieces, this one is quieter in color and heavier in mood. The shape is inspired by old school satchels, travel bags, and worn leather cases — the kind of bag that looks better when it has a little history on it. The surface has a distressed brown finish, so the color is not perfectly even. Some areas are darker, some warmer, and that unevenness is part of the character.

The front flap, buckle straps, metal hardware, and visible stitching give the bag a more grounded, vintage feel. I wanted it to look practical without feeling too plain, structured without feeling too polished. It has the kind of shape that works with everyday clothes, but also feels like it could belong in a studio, a train station, or beside a stack of old books.

The two front pockets are useful for smaller things you want to reach quickly, while the larger body gives enough space for daily essentials. The shoulder strap makes it easier to carry for longer days, and the top handle gives it a more classic satchel look.

It is a bag for someone who likes pieces that feel lived-in rather than new and glossy. Simple, useful, and a little old-fashioned in the best way.

Care

This bag has a distressed surface, so small marks and color variations are part of its look rather than something to hide.

Avoid soaking it or exposing it to heavy rain for long periods. If it gets wet, gently pat it dry with a soft cloth and let it air dry naturally. Do not use direct heat, a hair dryer, or strong sunlight to dry it quickly, as that may affect the surface.

For light cleaning, wipe with a soft dry cloth. Avoid alcohol-based cleaners, bleach, rough brushes, or harsh scrubbing. The finish is meant to look aged, so over-cleaning may change the texture or color.

When not in use, store it in a dry place. You can lightly fill the inside with paper or soft fabric to help the bag keep its shape. Try not to fold the flap or shoulder strap tightly during storage.

It is made to handle regular use, but it will age better with gentle care.

Design

For this bag, I wanted to make something that felt useful first, but still had a strong visual mood.

The design started from old satchels — bags that were carried to school, to work, on trips, or between places. I like that kind of shape because it does not feel too delicate. It has purpose. The flap, pockets, buckles, and handle all come from that practical language.

The distressed brown finish was chosen because a perfectly smooth surface would have made the bag feel too new. I wanted it to have variation, like something that already has a bit of a story before it even leaves the studio. The darker patches and worn-looking texture give it more depth.

The stitching and hardware are not there just for decoration. They help break up the large leather surface and make the bag feel more constructed by hand. The front pockets also add rhythm to the design while keeping the bag useful.

This one is less about being pretty and more about feeling dependable — the kind of bag that becomes part of your routine.
