I made this bag for the days when I want something small, dark, and a little sharper.

The shape is inspired by vintage shoulder bags from the late 90s and early 2000s — low under the arm, slightly gathered, and easy to throw on with almost anything. The glossy black surface gives it a worn-in leather-jacket feeling, while the front buckle adds a stronger focal point without making the bag feel too heavy.

Compared with the floral patchwork pieces, this one is much quieter in color, but it still has texture. The soft folds, side buckle details, curved shoulder strap, and central hardware give the bag a bit of attitude. I wanted it to feel casual, but not plain.

It works best with simple outfits: a white tank, oversized sweater, denim jacket, slip dress, black boots, or anything that needs a small vintage edge. It is not a large carry-everything bag, but it is the kind of piece that finishes an outfit without trying too hard.

Design

This bag started from the idea of making a small black shoulder bag that still had personality.

I didn’t want it to be too clean or too formal. The glossy surface gives it a slightly worn, vintage feel, almost like an old leather jacket. The gathered body adds softness, while the front buckle makes the shape feel more grounded and a little tougher.

The details are simple but intentional: the curved strap, the metal hardware, the side buckles, and the central front piece all keep the eye moving without adding extra color. Since the whole bag is black, the design depends more on shine, folds, and shape.

It is a quieter piece than the floral bags, but not a boring one. It has that easy, slightly nostalgic feeling of something you might find in the back of a vintage shop and end up wearing all week.
